Circus World - A Lost tourist attraction

What fun we had at Circus World in Florida in 1979
To get into the spirit of the circus fun , John Michael, age 5 and Mark Alan, age 3 had their faces painted by this lovely girl clown.
They are so adorable, and as their shirts say, "FRIENDS"
We are standing in front of our new 1978 Cadillac Deville

Another friendly happy grinning male clown with John Michael and Mark Alan

Grinning from ear to ear. There were tigers, elephants, acrobats, everything to enjoy:)

Huge elephant and we are not afraid:)
We are all having so much. It is too bad they had to close. Circus World is now a lost tourist attraction park in Haines, Florida on US 27, just East of I-4 , which bounced from owner to owner.
In 1973 the Felds, then the owners of Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus built "Circus World Showcase" as a preview center for a new "Circus World" theme park to combine circus based rides and shows with a new winter quarters for the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. It opened in February, 1974, The first building was a 27,000 sq. ft structure built to look like a giant circus tent, right down to the tent poles. After several owners, including Mattel and publishers, Harcourt Brace and Jovanovich, who chose to close this Circus theme park in 1986.

Looks like fun! I guess the little parks have a hard time with Disney and Universal right around the corner now. John and Mark look adorable!

Great blog. I remember Circus World with Mom and Dad on my trip to Florida in 1979. Hey, I tried to add my weight tracker to Vicky's cupcake site but was unable to do it. Any suggestions?
