I think this is just amazing and worthy of high fives! She must feel so good inside and out. Her health should also be better. I haven't watched the show but I'm sure it wasn't easy to lose that much weight.

Helen had to go through some really tough challenges each week, including a marathon race that she completed. I just love this show it takes people and changes their lives for the better.

Hi Kathleen, Neat post!!!! I have 'dieted' the wrong way my ENTIRE adult life. When I gained 60 pounds with my first child (1963)--I have never been able to control my weight since then... GADS!!!! I have gained and lost and gained and lost ---many, many times. Now--at age 66, my poor ole body is saying NO MORE. I guess I just need to learn to love myself the way I am...ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy,
I have been there and done it the yoyo way for practically my entire life until 5 years ago, at age 59, I was diagnosed with diabetes. At that time I said I want to live to enjoy my 2 grandsons, so I decided and made a full committment to follow the advice of my doctor and my nutritionist. By adhering to and following a no sugar, less than 6carbs of sugar, watching portion control, exercising by walking everyday for at least 20minutes, and changing the way I felt about food, I accomplished losing 48 pounds and keeping it off, getting my medication reduced and enjoying my renewed energy. I now make time for myself to relax and enjoy every moment.

GEORGE: Thank you:)
Each day is a challenge especially with family occasions. Just last week when I went to my Godson's daughter's First Communion, there was a spread of sandwiches and torpedo rolls, all made with white bread. I had to ask if they had any bread other than white and they defrosted multi-grain for me.
