I have always said I have 2 children.......

When asked do you have any children, I have stated, 'Yes, I have two sons, one on my side and one on my husband's side." What I actually mean is one looks like me, the Portuguese side, dark eyes and brown hair and the other like my husband's side, the English /Irish side, blue eyes and light blond hair.
So I thought it would be exciting to try the Look-alike Meter from the site My Heritage, that I love from the blog that Kelly wrote about. I as many parents puzzled all over the world have asked themselves, who does my child look like, Mom or Dad?
The MyHeritage Look-alike Meter settles the debate once and for all. Here are the the results for my first born son, John Michael and my second, son, Mark Alan.

Everybody loves a parade.......

This morning the sun was shining and the temp was 67 degrees, slight breeze, a great day to watch a parade. The annual Lincoln Memorial Day parade began at 11:am. John and I decided to avoid the excessive traffic and would go down Lonsdale to Higginson to Industrial to Walker and meet the parade as it headed and would end at Dow's Square in front of the Saylesville fire Department. This was a wise choice we arrived at 11:25 and the parade had not gone pass yet. Parade began at 11 a.m. from Smithfield Avenue at Pawtucket city line to Dow’s Square on Walker Street. The theme is “Honor Our Troops.”

We stood in front of a lemonade truck and had the sun to our backs, great for taking my photos and providing shade for Buddy.

A night of fire, music and dancing under the stars

We parked in front of the Amtrak station in Providence to begin our evening adventure of food and entertainment. This was the opening evening of The 2008 Waterfire season.

WaterFire is an environmental art installation created by Barnaby Evans in Providence, Rhode Island. It consists of a series of up to 100 bonfires that blaze just above the surface of the three rivers that pass through the middle of downtown Providence in Waterplace Park
(the Woonasquatucket, Moshassuck, and Providence rivers) , with accompanying world and classical music, sometimes with live performances.
Before walking around the river banks and watching the fires blazing and hearing the classical music we went to the Providence Place Mall Food Courtwhere Mark and I had our favorite Indian food at Gourmet India. I had PANEER PALAK, which is fresh spinach and homemade cheese with a touch of onions and ginger. DELICIOUS
After eating we walked and walked and walked by 10:00pm we were ready to sit for 20 minutes at the Rhode Island School of Design auditorium to see a 3-D slide show of Providence over the past 100 years. Very informative and interesting. After purchasing a medium size bag of kettle popcorn we walked to the WaterFire Sovereign Plaza Ballroom.

Sovereign Bank sponsors the ever popular WaterFire Sovereign Plaza Ballroom featuring live dancing under the stars. The Sovereign Plaza Ballroom returns this 8th season for four exciting nights.

The Sovereign Plaza Ballroom is free and open to the public. The Ballroom is just one short block away from WaterFire beneath the famous Turk’s Head building at the intersection of Westminster and Weybosset Streets in the downtown financial district.

The story tells of a Man named Jacob Whitman who once owned a home on this site in the mid-eighteenth century. His porch was adorn with a carving of a Turk. Over time the corner was called Turk's Head by locals. After Mr. Whitman passed away people continued to associate that name to the area. Eventually a commercial building replaced Mr. Whitman's home but the name still stuck. When the present building was eventually built, a large-scale head of a Turk was included in the design in reference to this legend. The story might have some truth. The Historical society posses a carving of a Turk's head which is said to be the very one from Whitman's front porch. A stunning venue with superb live music and a 65’ polished black dance floor. The dancing flows from 8:00 to midnight. There are free lessons by master instuctors at 7:00 Lesson: Russell Monk and Waltz & Swing the Band is Compaq Big Band 8:00pm-midnight

We left Providence at 12:30 am after having a most enjoyable fun evening

Circus World - A Lost tourist attraction

What fun we had at Circus World in Florida in 1979
To get into the spirit of the circus fun , John Michael, age 5 and Mark Alan, age 3 had their faces painted by this lovely girl clown.
They are so adorable, and as their shirts say, "FRIENDS"
We are standing in front of our new 1978 Cadillac Deville

Another friendly happy grinning male clown with John Michael and Mark Alan

Grinning from ear to ear. There were tigers, elephants, acrobats, everything to enjoy:)

Huge elephant and we are not afraid:)
We are all having so much. It is too bad they had to close. Circus World is now a lost tourist attraction park in Haines, Florida on US 27, just East of I-4 , which bounced from owner to owner.
In 1973 the Felds, then the owners of Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus built "Circus World Showcase" as a preview center for a new "Circus World" theme park to combine circus based rides and shows with a new winter quarters for the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. It opened in February, 1974, The first building was a 27,000 sq. ft structure built to look like a giant circus tent, right down to the tent poles. After several owners, including Mattel and publishers, Harcourt Brace and Jovanovich, who chose to close this Circus theme park in 1986.
